Messed up!

I'm on the bus home now and how i loathe this means of public
transport. on a train there is a level of tolerable peace, but on
this bus therre are hyperactive adolecents that seem to have an issue
with the concept of sitting down whilst a large vehicle is in motion,
and ten there are the teenagers that should know better but dont give
a damn about it.
From their loud conversations that almost drown
out the din of the bus' engine, to their equaly loud music they pump
out of the tinny quality speakers of their mobile phones. It seriously
could drive a lesser person insane.
i have observed a great decline
in public morality and decency over the years and i'm only 25. there
is a limit and i think we are at the cusp of breaking that limit
completely.
Till next time (if i survive this).

Never ending upgrade

Well here i am today in transit to work and i feel like crap. i just
read that there is going to be a new computer display port standard.
Apparently it is the successor to vga and dvi and it is soon to be
implement across many new monitors.
What gets me is its version number 1.1. Its quite annoying that i know
there is going to be a 1.2 in a few months and another iteration
months after that. Thus early adopters will be left behind or have to
buy new gear to stay up to date. in the good old days, they made a new
standard and it stayed that way for at least a few years and everyone
was equal. these days you are always missing out on one feature or
another just cos you decide to buy into this new thing early
unknown to you that there will be better version sooner than
later. Hd tv are starting to catch on big time here in the uk and if
its wasn't hard enough picking through 720p/i vs 1080i/p, now you have to
check is the is HDMI 1.2 or 1.3. Total piss off.
Of course one can say that this happens with many other electronics in
life and they mostly happen invisibly, beyond the average consumer's
knowledge and in a way thats fine. But in this age of the always-on
internet, a large majority of people are much better informed about
things and manufacturers can hardly sneak these changes past us.

my point to this rant is that i wish they would just not release these
new standard till they are sure they have reached the optimal level
that wont require any upgrades for a good many years later. The world
can wait, especially the mass market. The spate of draft N wifi
devices out there even before the standard have been settled is a biog
example of carriage before horse ad the hunger bu manufacturers for
money. Those devices would be totally obsolete is the standard is
different from what the hardware can provide. Just wait and finish
your research.

Alpha!

Hi there blogoshpere, even tho i know no one but me is reading this, i shall continue.

So this isnt my first blog, but this will most likeley be my most prominent one. My other blogs were just for a few college mates of mine to peruse at leisure. Right now i don't have a set plan for what will appear here but i'm sure it will come to me.

In the mean time blogbots, thanks for wasting these several minutes (or seconds, for you speed reading geekoids) of your lives on this and i hope you come back for more.

Peace out green-jellies
